The Mindset of Successful People

“Successful people make decisions quickly and stick by them”.  I have to remind myself of this EVERY day.  It’s definitely not my natural inclination.  I prefer to sit and mull and truthfully procrastinate.  So, I have to WORK on this every day and have made this my mantra, understanding that this is the mindset of successful people who reach their goals and well, I want to be one of these people.

It’s easy to talk yourself out of a goal, out of something you really want and know you really need, isn’t it?  It’s easy to walk right over an opportunity.  For example, maybe you’re wanting to improve your health, have more energy, do more things, create a great quality of life for yourself.  But when the opportunity comes for you to do JUST that, you find a way to talk yourself out of it. After 10+ years in the field, I have heard them all…….

“It won’t work for me”

“I can do it on my own”

“I should do it on my own”

“I don’t have the money”

“I have to do work on my house instead, buy new patio furniture, go on a cruise, etc….”

“My schedule is too busy”

“I won’t like the food”

“My spouse won’t support me”

“It’ll be too restrictive”

“My friends will be my cheerleaders instead”

“My doctor says I should use an app”

“I already know how to eat healthy”

So when the opportunity comes your way, you find a way to decline.

Let’s think about the law of attraction for a moment.  Let’s say you want something over and over again.  You expend the energy and your desire to the universe.  “I want to be lean, healthy, sexy, and confident”.  Well, the universe isn’t going to just one day have you wake up looking like Brad Pitt or J Lo (that would be fun, though, wouldn’t it?!).  BUT, what the universe WILL do, is answer that “ask” with an opportunity, an opportunity to grow yourself in that direction.  It’s your job to listen and when the opportunity comes your way, jump on it, stick to it, and don’t look back.

Unfortunately, A lot of people are in the habit of creating excuses to decline such divine  opportunities when they come their way.  I see this happen all the time.  I see people who are SO ready for change, they are right there, ready to commit but something mentally and emotionally is standing in their way.  After time, they start believing they can’t do it, they don’t deserve it, they aren’t worthy.

I ask you to sit with this, and consider for a minute if this resonates?  Do you talk yourself out of the things you say you want?

The positive thing about this is that once you recognize this is the case, you can change it immediately.  It takes practice, it won’t be perfect, but remind yourself that:

  1. Successful people make decisions quickly and stick by them. And,

  1. The universe will provide you with divine opportunities, but it is your job to TAKE ACTION and stop declining them with sophisticated excuses and procrastinations.
