Night out? No Problem


The girls or guys want to get together for a night out of fun and dancing at the local club or bar, and you are not worried! You’ve got some tricks up your sleeves that will make sticking to your program easy. Before you go for the liquor, remember that just one shot of alcohol blunts the fat burning process for 4 to 8 hours.  A few drinks knocks you out of fat burn for several days! SO not worth it, right? At the end of the night, hanging with your friends is not about what you drink. It is about the company and social aspect of being there with them and having a great time. You do not need alcohol to have a good night out with friends.

Be aware of your options and the triggers that come with either going out to eat, to a club, or a sports party.  Begin to create new healthy habits when it comes to these type of outings and always plan ahead of time.

  • Practice ordering water instead of wine
  • Replace the starchy options with vegetables
  • Ask for a to-go box when you order
  • Go out and dance the night away while sipping on a glass of sparkling water with a squeeze of lime
  • Order Vodka and soda water with a squeeze of SweetLeaf Water Drops, garnished with a lime wedge if you need a little bit of alcohol

Choose to have a good fun night out sober and enjoy all the progress you’ve made. Though it may not be apparent now, choosing one better option at a time helps to create new habits and behaviors that keep you moving forward toward your goals and ultimately help you achieve successful maintenance for life.  Let go of your fear and be social– Be an inspiration to your friends and family!

Fact: Alcohol calories take priority as fuel in the body over other fuel sources. This is because the by-product of alcohol metabolism, acetate, is toxic. So when you drink, fat burning stops until you burn those calories off.
